VOTSV Photo Shoot

It's been awhile since my last Valley of the Sun Vintage photo shoot (as it has also been awhile since my last blog post!), but it is definitely something I love to do, and am hoping to be able to do more of in the near future! ;)
For now, here are a few shots from my last shoot!

Huge thanks to my lovely models, Katie Belle and Madison, and their mother Kym for all your help!

Style Inspiration

Sometimes you just need a little inspiration to come up with that perfect outfit. I love to check out all the fabulous looks people have come up with on Chictopia. If you've never checked it out before, Chictopia is the largest online fashion community, where people from around the world create their own  fashion profiles/blogs, sharing the best of their inspired styles.
Here are a few looks from a couple of my favorite fashionistas on Chictopia, Theworldlooksred and Fancytreehouse. Both girls have such different styles, and both are inspired by vintage looks. They've both got it down in my eyes! Very chic!

Meet the Novogratz'

Robert and Courtney Novogratz, and their seven children have got to be one of the coolest families in the world! For more than two decades, Robert and Courtney have been developing their eclectic interior design by mixing ultra modern high end with refurbished vintage pieces, to create a super hip and luxe look. Based out of New York, they have transformed entire city blocks from condemned buildings to the most gorgeous homes in the city!
I was originally introduced to this stylish family a couple years ago when Bravo featured them on their own show "9 By Design" and was enthralled by not only their amazing designs, but also with how their eclectic aesthetic inspired every part of their lives. I LOVE their children's' names even: Wolfgang, Bellamy, Tallulah, Breaker, Five, Holleder, and Major!
The Novogratz' now have a show on HGTV, "Home by Novogratz" and I'm so happy that they're back to inspire a little part of my life again! :)

Tadashi Shoji

In the spirit of the Academy Awards tonight, I wanted to share some Oscar-worthy gowns from Japanese designer Tadashi Shoji. I just love the innovative shapes, luxurious fabrics, and the romantic aura of his Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Gentle Fawn

While I was searching online for new spring fashion to 'pin' to my Pinterest board, I decided to look up a line I remembered seeing at a trade show several years ago, and I was pleased to see that Gentle Fawn was still around and still as adorable as I remembered!
And what a great story they have too! The line was actually inspired by an innocent trip to a thrift store one afternoon in 2003, by designers Daniel and Carla Hogg. The name Gentle Fawn was inspired by a rare collection of antique ceramic fawns.

The line is clean and modern and successfully blends great design with functionality. I love the line because it's a stylish mix of urban and bohemian (what I like to describe my own personal style as!), and it's just so effortless!

Check out the Spring 2012 line...

Retro Graphic Art

So I stumbled upon this series of graphic art pieces by David Van Alphen and just fell in love with their 70's kitsch appeal! This multimedia artist mixes 70's retro fashion and electronics to create this unique collection of nostalgic imagery.
